Margão Porcelain Consomme Cup and Saucer by Vista Alegre
Margão’s porcelain consommé cup and saucer combine two small handles with a cobalt-blue floral pattern. The paired form gives a soup course the considered presentation usually reserved for tea.
“I like a handled cup for a small soup course; the saucer gives the service a reassuringly complete shape.”

Maker / Heritage
Founded in Ílhavo, Portugal, in 1824, Vista Alegre brings a living decorative tradition to the table. Its porcelain is glazed, fired and individually checked before decoration; the factory also maintains a specialist hand-painting workshop for selected artistic pieces. Collaborations with designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Sam Baron give that long history fresh expression, from finely drawn botanicals to architectural relief. It is this combination of technical care and imaginative decoration that gives the maker its distinctive range.
