Margão Porcelain Soup Plate by Vista Alegre
The Margão porcelain soup plate puts blue floral sprigs around a recessed serving center. Its rimmed form adds a distinct course to the collection’s blue-and-white table service.
“I like a little blue around a clear soup; the floral pattern gives the course its own frame without needing a complicated finish.”

Maker / Heritage
Founded in Ílhavo, Portugal, in 1824, Vista Alegre brings a living decorative tradition to the table. Its porcelain is glazed, fired and individually checked before decoration; the factory also maintains a specialist hand-painting workshop for selected artistic pieces. Collaborations with designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Sam Baron give that long history fresh expression, from finely drawn botanicals to architectural relief. It is this combination of technical care and imaginative decoration that gives the maker its distinctive range.
